Optimizing the energy structure of the aluminum industry to help carbon peak and carbon neutral

From July 22 to 24, the 9th China Aluminum Industry Science and Technology Development Conference was held in Zhuzhou City.

The conference was co-organized by China Nonferrous Metals Society, Central South University, Guiyang Aluminum Magnesium Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and National Aluminum Magnesium Electrolytic Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, and co-organized by Zhuzhou Tianqiao Crane Co., Ltd.

Gui Weihua, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Central South University, said that the carbon peak and carbon neutral actions have brought opportunities and challenges to the development of my country’s non-ferrous metal industry. Optimizing the energy structure is an important channel for the electrolytic aluminum industry as well as the non-ferrous metal industry to achieve carbon peaks.
